Old Southern cooking with a modern Southern atmosphere. Clean, welcoming and friendly. Homemade biscuits, loads of vegetables, and some of the best fried green tomatoes I've had (careful, they're fresh and hot). We avoid driving through Atlanta and head across Georgia instead. Places like Gritz is one of the reasons. Wonderful stop for lunch and the cobbler ... dang. BTW, Liver and onions isn't for everyone. If you like it, you know some folks can cook it and others give it its bad reputation. This was perfect. It's worth the drive just for that.

I just had the pleasure of eating here at Gritz. The food, the atmosphere, and the service are top notch. As a city guy transplant, they were very welcoming and the breakfast (especially the grits and biscuts) were out of this world! My family doesn't live close, but we will be coming back often, it's that good.

Absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious. My only complaint was the speckled butter beans were over salted. Otherwise it was aces. FYI this photo was wrongly labeled "KKK in full regalia " Not even close to accurate.
